You can find these courses that people have paid thousands for on e bay for next to nothing then read them and see what fits your comfort level.Just beware of those charging thousands to go to class and then up sell you on mentoring programs for 10's of thousands.

I had him sign a contract stating that he was licensed, insured and would acquire all proper building permits and that he would not receive the 2nd half of his payment until it passed inspection.After a day on the job, he sends me an e-mail saying he needs me to file a permit, due to a building inspector stopping by.

That said, if you got the bid right, & didn't pay too much, the company itself was decent to deal with - the escrow company for my deal was out of state, so there was a little hassle there, but I was able to "e-sign" the contract, which was convenient.
