She’s all of a sudden sick and is unable to work - this was her excuse after she told me she’ll pay April’s rent by the 25th. 

There is no excuse letting this go a week.

If they've been self-employed, they may not have SSA retirement benefits or a pension.These are big red flags to me - self-employed, no landlord references, huge tax liens - whenever I started having to make excuses or use the benefit of the doubt for applicants, I learned to stop doing that and just deny them. 

He'd rip open the bags of garbage, with the excuse that he was looking for recycling to separate. 

Just sounds like they made an excuse to keep deposit to me

Good luck.yea, i was told that usually detailed drawn site plan is really only needed when you are adding an addition, we are not...they're just looking for excuses to delay i think...i really think i may just move forward without a permit.  

THIS IS NOT AN EXCUSE to not shop for deals, this is just the position he was in.

When I finally stopped by his office he offered multiple excuses as to why my returns weren’t done including “we lost it”.  

Not necessarily a good excuse, but it may have been the case.
