someone in another thread mentioned that they used cheap water shutoff valves under their sinks, leading to them breaking several years later when he tried to shut off the water. obviously that was a mess, and it would have been better to buy higher quality valves to begin with.on the other side of the coin, when I remodeled my primary last year, I wanted black outlet and switch covers. instead of buying 25-35 of them at $4 a pop, I bought a $10 can of spray paint, and painted the white ones.
