I work as a software engineer in a pretty stable company so I'm not super concerned with losing my job.

(This is starting to be complex enough that using real, official accounting software might be a better idea.)Another thing I do on the receipt spreadsheet: when I get my bank and credit card statements at the end of the month, I go through the spreadsheet and bold all the receipt totals that are on the statements. 

None of this matters unless John is audited and his exchange looked at closely.

You need to have good software to analyze this as it's local specific.

It is definitely do-able if you have the right processes, people, and software in place.

We used Appfolio software and hired the Manager and Maintenance person in-house.
