Toilet jammed?

Toilets have a minimum offset from side walls...who knew?!  

The toilets are pretty basic ones, which would be fine if the house wasn't so dramatically higher priced than surrounding properties.  

I had a fully furnished apartment over my office that I was able to let the tenant stay in for the weekend, and we had the entire bathroom (new sub floor, new 2 piece fiberglass tub/shower unit, vanity, toilet and ceramic tile all installed in one weekend.

But, as water seeks its own level, aren't the basement fixtures (if any) -- toilets and sinks -- at risk next in significant backups? 

The main reason for this is that typical repair bills, say unclogging a toilet, will be a different percent of a $500 rental vs a $2,000 rental.

There are a few things we can count on in the world, two of them are false hope and foolish greed.I have just accepted the fact that we will be in the toilet for the next 24 months, and I would rather hang around the lid than swim in the bowl!!!

I suggest you also replace the toilet guts, and possibly the toilet.

You definitely stay w/in your town (surrounding towns are worth squat), and then it takes some knowledge and feel to determine how to comp w/in the town - whether to stay on the same street (I find this difficult in CT, as I don't generally find enough comps in my smaller towns), how far out you can go, which neighborhoods are similar to yours, that kind of thing.
