It also led me to discover Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad Poor Dad" which just might be one of the most influential books I think that I've ever read.I've bought and sold two primary residences, and now live in a third.

Today we had the final walk through and discovered that the laminate flooring in the living room and hallway had buckled!  

This was an interesting practice since I discovered that I can get quite a bit of pretty accurate data from the web even before talking tot he seller.

I have not read any blogs, found a local REI group, listened to any podcasts or read any books.

I have never heard anyone on podcasts or blogs mention that this could be a hinderance, other than this guy probably doesn't have to pester his tenants for rent, and may not want to give it up.
