I moved to Key West in 2006 after graduation and have bounced back and forth between Maryland and Key West, finally calling Key West my permanent home in 2013.  

So that is a bit of a worry if tourism is permanently effected then property must drop in value.

I would solve this problem permanently with a solid barrier fence on the property line between my property and the neighbor.

If you continue to have problems with the mold despite your expensive solution, your only chance of eradicating the problem permanently is to strip that apartment back to bare concrete, bleach the everlasting blankety-blank out of the rafters overhead, and refinish the entire place using the materials I've mentioned.I hope your solution ends the mold problem, as it WILL end the excessive humidity problem.

Lenders won't have much collateral on empty lots.Most "land" loans are essentially construction loans that turn into mortgages (construction-to-permanent loans) once the dwelling/structure is completed.A "buy and hold" on land is essential prospecting.

It looks like the best paths for this are to establish an RV park or campground, or a mobile home park where some of the units would be on permanent foundations and others could remain on wheels.I was wondering if anyone has gone through this process and has any tips / pointers.  

we have too many banks in this country. imagine how much cost can be cut and fat can be trimmed if we had 50 banks or fewer. there used to be over 14k banks, and now it's down to about ~6k. do we need that many?

I'm in somewhat of a unique situation - I'm currently looking to make an investment in a residential property as a permanent resident / green card holder.

I would get fat really fast if I lived there.
