Hey experts was hoping to get some clarification:The debt forgiveness act, which forgives up to $2M forgiven debt subject to taxation when the bank issues a 1099 during a short:Is it ONLY for the first $2M of the forgiven debt, -or- is it ONLY for loans that were under $2M on primary residences?

As a trustee you are held to a higher standard of care than in acting for yourself.Pre-paying college is a good idea, if you can get the money out if she doesn't go.Also agree with J. as it may be best to avoid the responsibility and turn it over to an expert or at least follow the advice of a trusted source.

Marie Poe Jake Kucheck I think the important thing to note is that Jake is a licensed California real estate agent, therefore; he's considered an "expert" by law, expected to know the laws of the State, and not asking for your counsel, only forms, therefore no liability, which would not be the case for others.
