@Sara Taslitt Ask lots of questions about protected classes and "testers".There are lots of ways to get snagged in a sting, where the state employs testers to try to trip you up.

It only entitles you to two things:1) if someone redeems the Certificate, pays you off, you get the Cost of the original certificate plus accrued interest at whatever the bid the rate down to.....rarely above 5%.2) If no one else redeeems, and you want to get your money back as the certificate holder, once the certificate is 2 years old, you can apply to send the property to s public tax deed auction.

@Brett Hearn Here in Canada we don't have legislation similar to Dodd-Frank, but I do take some of the consumer protection steps that are recommended in that act.

Working in Law Enforcement is not a protected class, unless laws are different in your state.Even if it is, the HOA being mean doesn't cross the threshold of illegal discrimination.
