Talk to other neighbors, what do they know about the house or the owner, where are they, look up address at IURealist for mortgage information, if necessary hire a detective to find the owner or decision maker!

Well, if MLS is it, I think I'd call the service and see if they'll sell you an account.Otherwise, it can't hurt, but it won't address the good/bad buy question if you're looking at properties.
