Sorry, I thought he wanted to BE a builder or a broker, so the quest is, work for a builder or go on his own, easy answer for a new agent/broker, go with the bread and butter, work for the builder, but a Realtor is not a captured agent, he can do other deals as well that don't conflict with his builder.

RE gets boring too, after 15/20 years my investments became more involved and slightly bigger, but more profitable due to the complexity of the deals (and risks, but such can be managed).Never stop doing what made you successful, what you know, there is a tendency to move on and up so to speak, but don't forget your bread and butter.
