Zelle and Paypal will 1099 the receiver for you automatically.This is incorrect.You're required to issue 1099s for Zelle payments, because Zelle is not a "third-party settlement organization" and does not issue 1099s.Venmo, PayPal and CashApp issue 1099s ONLY IF you pay using their "business" option, for which they charge recipients (your contractor, in this case) a fee, similar to credit card companies.
