I will just keep my nose to the grind wheel and storing cash until I can find something in my range. 

this is a landlord investor site so don't think your going to get a lot of sympathy from the many hard nosed landlords on this site.but be that as it may sell the car solves that problem other wise this seems like a major case of whining..

I wish I had the nose for RE when I was your age.

The big thing is putting your nose to the grindstone and keep working.

I guess my mind was just stuck on saving enough for an apartment building where there are probably for suitable opportunities right under my nose.

If it’s a cap gain, no SE taxes. 

Find your landlord AAOCIATION IN THE AREA -- or pay thru the nose for lawyer,

Oftentimes, this is someone who wants to distract you by waving a pile of money under your nose so you don't do your due diligence on them. 

No skin off his nose if he gets the place rented out fast.
