@Landon Dolezal First, I think that you should read through Brandon Turner's epic House Hacking Post here:http://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2013/11/02...I'm using this strategy myself and think that it offers new investors one of the best ways to dip their toes in Real Estate while giving you the ultimate in exit strategies - you can just live in the place a little longer than planned if things work out sub-optimally!

nice happy ending .....I really enjoyed that epic thread and many posters made good points....it popped up from time to time,,..I like the questioning of conventional wisdom on BP...for example, a guy had a blog on cap rates the other day that was quite good and over the years, many have made good points on the unintended consequences of the llc that have helped others...so you have to question assumptions..But even if it really does not pencil out for the individual or small firm to self insure when you run the numbers, I was glad you had the courage to question this assumption and invite others to offer the reasoning rather than accept the status quo. 

I'm looking forward to networking and building an epic team.

@Chris Harmen Create an awesome real estate "educational website" then build a online presence with profiles, videos and great epic-wow content on that site.

Ricks reply about straddle play seems to be quiet epic.
