Anyone can live anywhere they want if they have the money, and sometimes houses are bought and then rented out without much background checking on the people moving in.

To avoid pitfalls, research liens, check property conditions, and set a max bid before buying.

This is especially true if you're trying to buy in the best location possible.

I found that out myself a few years ago. 

This person has moved and living somewhere else.

I recommend checking Ohio, its a very beginner/landlord friendly state to get started.
