I know the pricing may be tight given how expensive the market is in our desired areas but we could consider anything near the Mount Pleasant and West Ashley areas that are nice areas to live but within a 30 minute drive of downtown.

I had originally posted this in a thread belonging to Ashley Harris, but to avoid dragging her thread off-topic, I've moved it here.Yesterday, I walked one of the oldest private estate houses in the Maritimes  (built c1850) which is still in-tact and still owned by the original family.

Often utilities will offer a low cost / no cost energy audit (and will sometimes assist with remediation costs), depending on your situation.As Ashley Wishinski mentioned, Mitsubishi (among others) makes some nice "split unit" heating/AC units, although  typical heat pumps generally start losing their ability to effectively heat somewhere between 20-30 degrees outside.
