I think novice operators are trying go too heavy on amenities to compete with the big boys/girls/people and they can't do it as well because they don't have the operational experience.Consistency is the key for new operators and that goes for quarterly photo updates, dynamic pricing, and communication.Too many people got into the space in the past three years who thought of STRs as passive income when that is just silly.

I already have a full-time job and ltr and str rental properties and wondering if ski areas are exhibiting any trends indicating investment potential.

I'm currently considering Erie, PA, Pittsburgh, PA, and Columbus, OH, although I am interested in NY state also.Any thoughts would be helpful. 

@Aahil B.Generally speaking flipping is another job and given you already have a job, are you willing to spend your nights and weekends working on that?

My job is fairly hectic, so I wouldn't have time to manage tenants and would have to get a property manager.

I am questioning my former PM because I contracted with them to have the work performed and if they missed doing the exterior encapsulation then I want them to finish the job. 

I remember when I first got started, I thought reading books and analyzing deals was enough.. but once you start making offers and managing properties, that’s when the real learning kicks in.

It seems that rent has grown faster than jobs, and its hard to keep up with the rent at rates like $1400 in that area.From looking at crime, that neighborhood was lower than all of Westland, so I am surprised to hear its so bad.

He is 23 y.o and about to start full time job. 

Not too shabby for literally 0 work or thought.
