Ski Areas - STR Markets

Well its been 12 years since my last post, lol. Love seeing how BiggerPockets has evolved for the better and enjoy reading the threads. I already have a full-time job and ltr and str rental properties and wondering if ski areas are exhibiting any trends indicating investment potential. Grateful for your insights. Cheers

Marriot Homes and Villas seems to think so. They have acquired 4000 single family properties to operate as STRs in the past year alone, many in ski areas, and all high end. Do they know something I don't ? 

I have an STR in a ski area in Colorado and we are up 155% from last December. Demand is insatiable, it may be a COVID bump, but I tend to think not. We raised our price projections 3 times this year throughout the year as demand increased.

Our new years eve guests cancelled recently, they had our place booked for 5 nights at $900 night. After the cancellation, we raised our price for that week and had it booked within 36hrs for $1400 per night.  In ski towns across America, housing prices are at an all time high demand is at all time high and supply all time low. Is now the time to buy? At the right price I certainly would.
