Will it strain your marriage/relationship/family life to a breaking point?  

This has left us with the townhouse that we had prior to our marriage.

Obviously our marriage and our joint happiness is so much more important than becoming financially free a couple years earlier.

We had discussed this before marriage and at some point we will also need a post nuptial agreement when she begins acquiring assets that will go to her sons (and I am totally encouraging about it!)

Any advice besides marriage counseling? 

This is something that shouldn't be on your mind when interviewing a tenant.Keeping up with your tenant's sexual preferences and then following up to learn about their dating/marriage status is creepy. 

Now my parents are still married but imagine if you can that one day my father comes home and declares after 40 years of marriage, that he fell in love with his secretary or one of his buddy's at work ( lol, I just had a image of my dad being gay ..) it has happened to 100's of thousands of women.

Getting creative about using your primary as a chess piece for your investment journey is just fun and probably the best way to hit the fast forward button on your investment journey (so long as your reserves and marriage are strong enough to handle it).
