If so, you need to understand where they're coming from, that they're embarrassed, may be in denial and don't necessarily trust a random guy contacting them (for example, they don't know that you aren't an employee of the bank trying to trick them into giving information).To be honest, it takes a particular type of personality and charisma -- and also a keen understanding of the person on the other end of the phone/table -- to be able to connect with people in a distressed situation.

I have an acquaintance with Obama's exact personality...a career criminal. loads of charisma, everyone loves him, don't believe a word he says. don't let him in your house or anywhere near your money or friends phone numbers. no offense to Obama but he's got a lot to prove before anyone who has any real knowledge of money management will trust him.

In my experience, the best PMs are task people and lack charisma.

I have to admit, this guys knowledge and charisma was inspiring.My head hurts thinking about how this company, or whoever they really are, and why they would be so helpful with their first upsell and so greedy at the same time for the next.

I pride myself on my charisma!
