To follow this plan will require some self-discipline practiced daily, especially if this mindset doesn’t come naturally.

Once the sale is done, I'm not sure if they will be effective in managing the property.  

I'm willing to bet top dollar that college education would be a better bang for your buck than a self-study seminar peddled by someone selling you real estate "snake oil".

Insist that the PM keep searching for another tenant and if they refuse hire another PM or self manage.

If you plan on self managing that is going to keep you extremely busy.  

I completely agree with @Ali Boone and the others: Success as an overseas investor is all about building an effective ground team (entity structuring, deal sourcing, acquisitions support, property management, banking & finance).

I would urge you to not get too caught up in the hype about investing in one particular asset type - multifamily, mobile home parks, self storage or cabins. 

I’m getting ready to rent out my house, and this is the first time I’ll be doing it my self.
