Way too many like to dream on the STR is something new, recently invented, because the past never knew anything about anything and were so tech, were so hip, ooohhhh-aaahhh look at all these cool shinny things we "made".

When I see rust eating at welds like this I wonder how much of the problem comes from the management company (Rust never sleeps).A maintenance tech scheduled for some time with a wire brush and some Rustoleum could have saved this expensive cement tread stairway.Now it a welder (if it's salvageable) and the Rustolem, plus the cost to construct that ugly unpainted wood bridging system, and tear it down.And despite all of the drama that's going on, Mrs Kitty still has her favorite spot in the shade next to her food and water--a natural foe to garbage rats.

There was a lot I got a feel for walking around West Baltimore over to Poppleton and the UMD med-tech area. 

Every professional property management company in the world has maintenance techs doing simple fixture replacements perfectly competently without any special licenses.

The ROI is definitely better on the TN side, but I haven't seen a view here that rivals those in Maggie!
