Sink Damage from Tenant

Ryan Jaret
Posted

Hello,

During the course of the lease the Tenant broke the kitchen Faucet. I sent him an email informing him that I was deducting the cost of the repair from his SD. He never responded to the email. I went ahead with the repairs. Now that the lease is over and I deducted the cost of these repairs he is fighting it in court saying I already paid for it. Who is in the right?

I'm stuck on the point that your tenant is fighting you in court ... over the cost of a faucet repair? What, a couple hundred dollars, max?

What am I missing?
