I wonder if this is common in Canada  Australia Great Britian ext.. were you have robust RE markets and investors..... or do they just think us USA citizens are the dumbest on the planet ?

You can also consider having an iron clad rental agreement and a robust commercial insurance policy to protect yourself. 

Adjusting your price point strategically in a good rent areas is a way to get started.

The seller is well within their right not to respond, and very well may be doing so strategically.
