Especially in a purchase there's usually something that doesn't go completely according to plan.

Call someone later to talk about the deal they discussed, or to get a better, more complete understanding of why they did it that way, and how they did it.When you start looking at deals, in whatever interest area you have and you run across something and conclude that it won't work, maybe it won't work for you. 

Its hard enough buying here and knowing the market like I do but to expand out to an area is a complete mistake until you are well grounded, knowledgable, financed and educated on the entire investment processes.

Certainly RDU is a special place and one of the few in the country like that - so not a completely fair comparison - however I feel that I've seen enough of these proximity effects to opine that the proximity of Ames and the quality of its graduates will be a big causal factor to continued DSM area growth - both population and economic.
