I think STR is a great investment vehicle, but owners need to be realistic about the future.

Once you factor the income tax, vehicle tax, soda tax, obesity tax, smoking tax, and all other ridiculous taxes you guys pay, Texas is the real winner.

Debating whether to sell it to have a house paid off that I can then use as a vehicle to purchase additional properties to build the portfolio.

They are an underrated investment vehicle for sure, and can be much more hands off with less property management involved if done correctly.
