I recently got a small loan to get a head start on my credit since I have no credit history.

How valuable is shopping around and reaching out to small credit unions for multi-family out of state purchases?

Im trying to work hard to get the credit the best i can like leasing a car and use a credit card.

I know that some people put a "cleaning" penalty in their agreements that will charge the vacationer if they have to clean up more than what is normally expected, if things are taken, etc, and they hold a credit card for this purpose.  

However, my son's death, and the subsequent divorce (and mental shut down) really hurt my credit. 

Now, is that equity mine, and would I be able to use it to get an equity line of credit ?

My question is about renting.When you advertise a unit for rent, do you charge an application fee & have them perform a background/credit check prior to seeing the unit?

What does it mean when a counteroffer says this from the listing agent: "Buyer shall be credited $10k for escrow fees and other fees."

My situation unfortunately disqualifies me for a conventional loan at the moment, as I only have 1 year of work history/tax returns in the US.I was previously employed in the UK, however due to a 1 year gap in employment history (whilst I was going through the immigration process and was legally not allowed to work) my lender has told me they will not be able to complete the loan.This leads me to commercial loans!
