@Trey Hedrick im not from the area but if mentoring is something your looking for i wouldnt mind sharing some knowledge i even have some local team members you could network with.

Also very interested in networking with anyone (attorneys, CPAs, agents, brokers, property managers, investors) to begin laying down some professional roots in the RE space :)

Just hoped I could defer it but as you said, no big deal in starting from 2017.I also found that you can carry on losses (0 income - expenses) on future years income, so definitely that is the way to go.Both the property manager and a CPA told me that the rents become income for me when they are released to me.

I'm interested in networking with other investors in Omaha to see how we might be able to help each other.

I was down there  earlier this year networking and looking at properties, and after hearing lots of bad things from Calgarians about Windsor, I must say it is a beautiful city with great cash flow potential, making it our #1 pick to invest in if we stayed investing in Canada. 

Went to my first meetup a few weeks ago which was really cool, definitely looking to network a bit more irl through more local meetups (hope to meet some of you there!).

@Carolyn Morales Find a good CPA and ask them this question.

This is put on by the same group that does the workshop and you can meet those guys and discuss further there if you are interested or just use it as an opportunity to network with like minded people.

Something like this probably requires someone who has a large network of investors too.

Josh Dorken and Brandon Turner recommended creating the meetup to network with investors and it is working.I am still attending other REIA's but this one is full of new BP members helping other new BP members.
