I'd like to piggy-back on the question and ask for some related advice that perhaps might benefit @Eva and others.When shopping around for lenders, whether conventional or portfolio lenders, what is the proper way for every potential lender to get your credit report without dinging your credit score during each inquiry? 

In fact, my bosses largest five accounts have not shopped their insurance for over 20 years.
