@Liz Rogerscapital gains tax is normally $0 at the federal level if you are in the bottom 2 tax brackets(in aggregate which would include all your income).Be mindful that there still may be a state income tax.

I can tell you the local government does not like slumlords, which there are plenty of and unfortunately this attracts bad tenants and gives the rest of us a bad name, but actually living in the area for the most part has been great!
