You can spend the afternoon walking around the Wagon Wheel Flea Market where you will discover a vast array of goodies, and quite possibly take in some live tunes.

I did that and additionally cemented the area, so there is a 2 feet wide walkway all the way around the house.

And another, one guy spoke with the investment department of a well known world wide high tech company and arranged to give real estate investing seminars *at the company* in one of their conference rooms on an ongoing basis.

I've been digging around the forums here, and the far less informative world wide web, about the rules for creating and breaking apart real estate portfolios and I haven't found what I'm looking for.

As you can tell, you are going to get a wide spread of advice and at the end of the day taking general advice for various people can only benefit you so much. 

Melissa,This house is a cape with the roof line you have, the roof rafters run front to back on the house and from the picture of the attic it shows the ceiling joists run the same direction. now if the room with the ceiling fan is in the front of the house and the kitchen is in the back with the side exterior wall to the left, then that opening was a bearing wall and was removed. not necessarily a bad thing, i figure the house is probably 24' wide ?

To LLC or not to LLC is a widely debated topic on BP, and both sides of the equation have merit - but now that the new tax bill is here, I suspect the merits of those arguments will change.  

My own goal was to "go wide" by buying 10 houses and then "go deep" by paying them off.
