I would suggest beefing up your profile and include a photo for people to see who you are.  

Reading your profile it seems you've encountered this issue already before so make sure you find something with a low-to-you risk.

Folks,Want to register an opinion on recent changes to the colleague requests...There is no longer a direct prompt for an introductory message to accompany a colleague request.You may want to rethink that.Now, when a get a colleague request, I must first explore the requestor's profile to see if I want to accept it.
