The rental book investing would be a good resource if you'll be into buy and hold investing. 

Since this is a diverse community that spends a lot of time with self-improvement-y books/podcasts/etc, I thought some of you might have some ideas. 

@Laura McPhail, if you are just starting out naked, so to speak with little to no education, you should read the stack of books about it first.

@Jason Sherrod I haven't read that note book, but I have read several others. 

Any suggestions for where to go for a primer, either online or books?

the market will determine how much your information is worth when you package it.write a book, do a podcast, start a blog. information sales however is a low cost to entry, most people give out information for free (check out a site called www.biggerpockets.com to confirm).

You would also want to have in lease disclosure of personal and financial books updated quarterly. 

@Tye Foster - David Greene wrote a pretty good book called Long Distance Real Estate Investing.
