The building department can pull the property up and give you a list if there are any on the property for free.

Currently I am working for bank of America in the small business department, where I read biggerpocket articles during my down time and that is pretty much how I ended up here today..I believe investing in real estate will put me in a position to have the freedom to do what I want, when I want with the people I enjoy most.  

I believe I need strong tools to negotiate with the GC whom I will hire and double check his performance on a weekly basis (ex: spliting payment as he hits each milestone or pass each inspection from COSJ building department.

should i just Google the office number call them and see if i could speak to the department that is in charge of all the properties they own, or what strategy should i use and/or how do i go about this?

If you talk to the building department and the fire marshall you should be able to get an idea. 

We typically have no issues but sometimes we come across a sticky situation with students which are backed by OSU department of student affairs.We are looking to continue to build our network and team and are looking for some solid real estate experienced lawyer , ideally with a lot of tenant law experience.Any advise or reference?
