If you are trying to get a good deal especially off the MLS you will have to make many offers generally to get one accepted..of course it depends on how 'hot" your market is,etc.

Turn the furnace on and once you feel from another vent that hot air is coming out, then go to the rooms without a vent and point around the base of the room and watch for any temperature discrepencies.
