i just finally moved to Europe (i'm in Geneva, Switzerland) and will start my research on European real estate as it's much easier when closer... i hear some feedback on Spain lately that it's getting harder with Airbnb and individual property rentals as well as from David's post sounds like rentals don't generate great returns... i always thought of Spain as one of the best vacation destination in Europe, we personally go there every year with my husband and friends for the past 7 years, it's a little camping/bungalow spot 1 hour south of Barcelon on Costa Dorada) and it seems packed all the time and expending... so i was a bit surprised to hear that.. in my opinion of Spain was always a great spot for vacation rentals and therefore i thought buying rental properties will be a good investment.. we also want to live there eventually (early retirement :-))... so my goal is to combine a little business and lifestyle there...if you could give me a short advice on Spain in terms of areas to look for investing, developing areas, neighborhoods, etc where would that be? In some states the lender/servicer can place the funds into an interest bearing account and the state forces that interest earned to be paid to the borrower and some states do not mandate the lender/servicer to give that earned interest to the borrower so they can retain it.
