I have been very fortunate thus far and have a beautiful wife, 2 young daughters, a healthy body, a career that many would consider very good, but I don't have a passion for my work.I recently read Rich Dad Poor Dad (surprise surprise!) 

My daughter has a Track Meet today and I can't go cause of course, I have to work.

I have made it through the UBG and I listened to some of the podcast while driving to New Orleans to visit my daughter.

My 18 yr old daughter has actually been on my payroll since she was 15 helping me do research on properties as well as being on job sites with me and helping with remodels.  

I also wanted a job career doing something I can be passionate about while also not having my financial security being dependent on me getting up at 5am, 5 days a week, for the next 30 years of my life.In addition my grandfather has various real estate holdings in the Chicago and surrounding suburbs (vacant lots in up and coming areas and affordable housing) but unfortunately he's old fashioned and operates under the "fix it myself and save a dime" mentality.

Does your daughter live there - yes.  

I enjoy being informed of pitfalls but they also create a mental block. 

My father patched drywall, my 14 year old daughter painted.

Also, don't forget that they need sufficient mental capacity to transfer title when the time does come to sell.In the meantime, I'd buy the other half with seller financing or swap other property or assets for the equity.

Because her daughter has a good relationship with my wife, our emotions got the best of us.
