I just finished reading David Greene's book on long distance investing.

I've just ordered David Greene's book on long distance investment, but I'm wondering if there's anyone else who has done this from outside the states (or anyone in general) who has any advice to share? 

I am currently in Houston, TX but will be moving back to Allentown in November to continue working at Air Products in Trexlertown PA.

When would it be wiser to use a conventional home mortgage than a product like this?
