I purchased 7 concrete block homes on 3 aces in North Fort Myers, Florida last Sept. for $225k. 6 are one/ones and then there's a 3/2 main house.

I want to get the tax benefit of a loan on the property (as well as get my $ back out sooner rather than later), but I am just hitting road blocks with financing either the traditional way or with a refi, but the local credit union will do a home equity loan on the property.

But a little back history on the property , the land or whole block use to belong to one person name Bart and the street is named Bart street, so I guess he had all the home built close to each in 1945 than later had the area sectioned off to smaller lots to sell them obviously they didn’t do a good job measuring or plotting the land..

This was the worst house on a nice block and it feels good to be contributing to the good of the neighborhood :)

It's one thing to compromise by being a few blocks further from your favorite coffee shop, it's another to not feel safe in your home.I would use a list service or the public property records to target 3- and 4-unit properties in neighborhoods you like.

The home is R1 zoned but there would be zero additions made to the home simply adding a kitchenette to an existing room and blocking off a hallway to the remainder of the home.

For example, if you buy a cheap place in a bad part of town with low rents, but then remodel it to the nicest place on the block, how much can you increase rent?
