I actually decided to take a field trip to Cleveland to test the waters and see a few properties prior to making the move. 

I have identified which things we won't do ourselves the next time around, and I will build a materials list so we can buy everything at once to limit the trips to HD.  

The cost is about 1/2 of what the lawyer charge, and take a number of trips to the county court.If you just want a simple / easy way, hire a reputable flat fee service.

My goal is to pay for any scouting or signing trips with just rewards points in 2018.I would imagine that you can really rack up points and/or churn through signup bonuses if you charge major purchases and expenses through rewards cards and then pay them off immediately.

I’ll have to plan a trip out there around making it to a meeting and getting some Emperors Grill. 

So, the round trip cost of buying and then selling a property at the same price is about 10% at best.   

The real story: I was saving money to take an around the world trip for a year.

My boss is asking if I'd be willing to go on a long road trip 6-18 weeks.

You're saving tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars by going out of state, so spend a couple hundred on at least a weekend trip.
