Make sure you take a look at the Ultimate Beginners Guide to REI from BP (https://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2013/02/19/ultimate-beginners-guide-to-real-estate-investing), narrow down what you want to do in your investing career and check out the forums, set up keyword alerts, and listen to the podcasts.

doing both would be a great idea,, with the same topic,, but blog is the trend now a days and it is much easier to make and maintain for a beginner i guess it is the best.
