Some tech skills are required or you can outsource it.

If we were big business, I would hire the skills of others who could provide me with the data I needed.

This crosses all industries, setting guidance based on services performed being in like type, quality, area of expertise, of service providers having education, knowledge, experience and skills that are expected at any price point. 

Sounds like you and yours have great skills to apply to real estate investing.  

In fact, why am I paying $50,000 plus medical and retirement benefits for Joe when I can hire a virtual assistant from Mexico or the Philippines for 1/3 the cost that is just as qualified and speaks excellent English? 

Its hard to find quality contractors (you haven't developed the skill for that yet).

For single wholesalers doing it all on their own of course you have to par that down.. and it really depends on the market. and frankly your sales skills.. since you basically have to close the lead on the phone if they are absentee and don't live near you.. 

I'm a musician (NEVER play at home, I have a studio for that when I need to rehearse or record) I am also a skilled videographer (I film shows for other musicians whose websites I also produce and maintain.I do all of this without a specific business title, because it's free lance.
