New to REI in Seattle

Hey there everybody!

My wife and I are new to the Seattle area (just moved from Minneapolis) and we are starting to look for our first property. We have an interest in small multifamily for buy-and-hold and in fix-and-flip. We are both currently in construction (I install flooring and she is a heavy equipment operator) so fix-and-flip seems to make a ton of sense for us since we can do most all of the work ourselves. However, what seems to make the most sense for starting out for us is buying a duplex to live in while hunting for fixers. So we are currently looking for a duplex in Seattle. I know that we won't likely find anything that will cash flow well, but living central is super important for us because work takes us all over from Monroe to Tacoma.

We've both been reading up on BP and listening to the podcasts, but nothing really compares to making real-life contacts and talking to people with experience in the field. We'd love to meet you all who are out there living the dream. We are both reasonably intelligent and certainly no strangers to hard work. I would also be open to doing work for and with any other fix-and-flip investors in the area who need a guy for floors or other projects.

Hope to meet you all soon!

Brian

@Brian Bice Hi and welcome to BP! I am a former long time resident of Seattle. In fact the last place we lived there (left in 2001) we sat above Lk Washington and had a view of Mercer Island. Now I live in Oregon, but invest out of state. All best to you in your REI adventures.
