First, here you're physically in the market which will make obtaining finance & setting up a team with a great property manager, etc much much easier. 

Short of some sort of lock-out, or physical blockage of occupancy, I am struggling to come up with any alternatives and thought I'd tap into the community's collective wisdom.Thank-you in advance.   

I believe what happened was that the seller realized at close, that he had gained clear title, and his house was now in good shape physically, due to the clean up and so, was worth much more than the agreed upon purchase price.

I think as long as the owner suspects illegal activities are going on in the house that they could exercise their landlord right to inspect the property as frequently as they see fit.

It sounds easy enough with having two contracts and I'm sure some renters just won't exercise the option when it comes time but to the landlord that isn't necessarily the worst thing. 

Also would I be able to physically split the home in half, maybe add an extra kitchen, build some walls and Officially call it a Duplex to receive more rental income when I move out to purchase my second home to repeat the process???
