I totally understand the purpose of the eviction half due to loss of employment etc., but this is starting to get ridiculous if the landlord can’t reclaim their property and have to just watch it turn into a drug/gang member house.

If you want, you could add a tree that once grown will provide shade, but that will require raking up the leaves in the fall and depending on the location and wind, cleaning out the gutters more often....and the roots may cause problems later on.
