My bottom floor unit has an electric igniter for the gas furnace.  

Hi everyone,We are renovating a duplex, and so far we have gone with heat pumps and natural gas furnaces, so heating and cooling should be lower priced than usual.However, I have to decide on water heaters, and I can do a regular electric model which could cost them $400+ a year to run, or I could do a heat pump water heater, which would only cost $100-200 per year to run. 

A little about me, I'm a young professional working in the oil and gas industry for about 3 yrs. last year I gained interest in owning property to either buy/hold or rent out, however I never pulled the trigger because of my lack of knowledge in this business.

I currently live in Katy, Tx and work in the Oil and Gas field.  

Well, I educated myself on the business of REI for the price of a many lunches and cups of coffee (networking costs ;) , gas money, couple of RE attorney hours (contract education), countless books and periodicals, REI club membership dues and lot's and lot's of time.

Folks getting $8 per hour working at a gas station who only has 3 employees can afford to buy insurance cheaply.

Save money on the 1000's of stamps and spend time and gas making more personal connections.  

They get these $400 or so bills in the winter (for gas usage I bet) for their little apartment, which is crazy.
