I am an avid traveler and love hiking around the country's National Parks.

There are a ton of mom-and-pop storage facilities around the country.

Its mainly done in the markets suggested where dirt and construction costs are far below one off or other areas of the country and the numbers still provide some positive return  . 

In-person first flips cost 2x as much as you think and take 2x as long, when you are out of the country, these will both be 3x metrics.

We're considering ditching our SF apartment ($4k/mo rent) and instead booking month-long stays in short term rentals around the country.

Hello BiggerPockets community,I'm a long time lurker, but I'm finally getting more active into investment related activity after relocating across the country. 

You can find on market deals that still cashflow, some of them very well, and I don't think you're finding that many other places across the country.

Down the road my goal is to own STR out of the country and its really cool to hear of someone who is doing it successfully!

In terms of buy and holds (cash flowing rentals) the opportunity is overall high, obviously based on how long you are willing to hold because the market in vegas has the ability to generate long term holding equity with the fact that vegas is a top 5 growing city in the country currently.

Or will it be too hard trying to manage it from across the country?
