I wouldn't make a decision solely based on social media posts but I sure do take them into account. ie, if they applied, I'd do an extra amount of verification on their employment status, etc.

Those things should be taken care of up front.Like @David Robinson says, there are other ways to go where you don't have to provide your income verification, but you'll still have to provide bank statements to show you're a viable candidate for a pre-approval.
