I don't see many of these in Amarillo....but not there very often and don't pay that close attention.If it is, maybe you could really specialize...and as someone else said if you have truck parking....rent to truckers for the night....or if you are close to Route 66 rent to bike riders passing thru....or focus on any of the other specialties in your area....like including spray paint for the Cadillac Ranch, or balloons if they want to visit the Helium museum...or cool things like that.

I think that route should be taken if it's clear the tenant has "abandoned" those possessions.

We choose not to go the PM route because the job is easy enough that we don’t like to give away the money to the PMs… who are glad to spend your money without s second thought.

I've heard asking for a pre-qualification might be a good route, as it won't hit our credit (as compared to a pre-approval).

In addition, I would recommend the short-term rental route especially from a tourism standpoint - run the numbers via a site such as AirDNA and compare that projected income to a long-term lease but it sounds like you would get a much greater return as an AirBNB, VRBO, etc.
