So my current situation is that I rent out 4 out of the 5 bedrooms in my house. 

I am currently house hacking a 2 bedroom condo in Chalan Pago and plan on renting it out to military when I leave the island in several years.

It was a shared house arrangement - the landlord is an older woman, and she rented out two bedrooms in her home, one to my friend and one to another renter.

While researching homes we can potentially flip there (we might go for 3 years, or 6 months lol military) I found a single family home that is listed as 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom (but there are 3 rooms upstairs) and it definitely can do with some basic updates.This home is in the New Bern area of NC (I originally thought we were going to a different base so I know that's a little far from Jacksonville) but it sits on 8 acres of property.

Features 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms with 2 master suites.

In addition, my goal is to have both bathroom and bedrooms recorded by the county, so that if I ever sell, I can legally advertise the extra bedroom and bath.

They rent three bedrooms.

Defensively, we should set aside ample reserves to deal with situations like this. 

I am targeting 3-4 bedroom House, Condo, or Townhomes. 

The basement is a bedroom with closet, and large egress window well.
